Disconnect the cable on the negative terminal of the battery to avoid starting the engine accidentally. Remove the filler cap for the fuel tank to relieve the pressure in the fuel tank. Wrap a shop towel around the fuel pressure fitting on the fuel rail and attach a fuel pressure gauge to the fitting. Connect the bleed hose to the pressure gauge and place the open end of the bleed hose into a container approved for gasoline. Open the fuel pressure gauge to relieve the pressure in the fuel system. Remove the fuel pressure gauge from the fitting.

Place one end of a hose into the filler tube of the fuel tank and place the other end into the gasoline container. Siphon as much fuel as possible from the fuel tank into the container.

Disconnect the filler pipe and fuel lines from the fuel tank. Support the fuel tank with jack stands and remove the bolts for the fuel tank straps with a socket wrench. Disconnect the fuel tank straps and lower the fuel tank slightly so you can disconnect the harness clip from the cross member and the electrical connections from the fuel tank. Lower the fuel tank completely and remove it from the vehicle.

Turn the retaining ring for the fuel sender assembly counterclockwise with a fuel tank sending wrench. Remove the retaining ring, and detach the fuel sender assembly from the fuel tank. Discard the gasket on the fuel tank. Pull the fuel strainer from the fuel sender assembly and discard the strainer.

Detach the electrical connector for the fuel pump. Release the retaining clip for the fuel sensors electrical connector and detach the fuel sensors electrical connector. Release the retaining clip for the fuel level sensor and remove the fuel level sensor.

Install the new fuel pump and gasket by reversing steps two through five. Tighten the bolts for the fuel tanks retaining straps to 30 ft. lbs. with a torque wrench. Tighten the bolts for the cross member to 37 ft. lbs. Fill the fuel tank and replace its filler cap. Connect the cable for the negative terminal on the battery with a socket wrench. Turn the ignition on for two seconds, then turn it off for 10 seconds to pressurize the fuel system. Turn the ignition back on and check for fuel leaks.

Turn the bolt or nut on the Passports negative battery cable counterclockwise to loosen it. Pull the cable from the battery to disconnect it.

Open the door. The drivers side door contains the master window switch, but there are also window switches on the other doors. The procedure to replace the switches is the same.

Cover the tip of a flathead screwdriver with masking tape. Insert the tip under the front edge of the window switch. Pry up to pop the front section of the window switch out of the door armrest. Move around the switchs perimeter, gently prying up to free the switch.

Pull the switch away from the door armrest. Examine the rear. Youll find an electrical plug attached to the back. Push the plugs tab to unlock it, and then unplug it from the switch. Set the old switch to the side.

Grab the new window switch. Plug the electrical plug into its rear. Set it into the door armrest mount.

Push the edges of the switch down firmly to secure it to the door panel armrest. Place the negative battery cable back onto the battery post and tighten its nut or bolt.

Remove the cable on the negative battery terminal to prevent starting the engine during the procedure. Place the drain pan under the radiator drain, and remove the drain plug. Allow the coolant to drain into the container and store it for later use. Replace the drain plug.

Disconnect the pivot bolt for the alternator brace with a socket wrench and remove the alternator brace from the water pump. Remove the retaining bolts for the rear cover of the timing belt and detach the rear cover from the engine. Disconnect the timing belt.

Remove the mounting bolts for the water pump with a socket wrench. Detach the water pump from the engine. Discard the gaskets and O-rings for the water pump.

Coat a new O-ring with water; mount it onto the water inlet pipe. Place a new gasket on the new water pump; install it to the engine block. Torque the mounting bolts for the water pump to between 8.7 and 11 foot-pounds with a torque wrench.

Install the timing belt and the rear cover for the timing belt with a socket wrench. Connect the alternator brace and tighten the pivot bolt for the alternator brace to 17 foot-pounds.

Fill the radiator with coolant. Reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.

Raise up the hood of your car or truck and prop it open with the bar.

Position your assistant in front of the vehicle holding the new billet grill in place against the front of the vehicle. Push the bolts through the holes and tighten with a socket and ratchet.

Lower the hood of the car.
