Installing Fuel Injectors in a 1992 Pontiac Bonneville
The Pontiac Bonneville is a series of cars manufactured by the Pontiac division of General Motors since 1957. The 1992 model is the first of the eighth generation of the Pontiac Bonneville, and represents a major redesign over the previous generation. The standard engine in the 1992 Pontiac Bonneville was a six cylinder, 3.8 L engine with sequential fuel injection. You must remove the fuel rail to access the fuel injectors for this vehicle.

Disconnect the cable for the negative battery terminal with a socket wrench to avoid the accidental discharge of fuel. Open the filler cap on the fuel tank to relieve the pressure in the fuel tank.
2Remove the cap for the fuel pressure connection on the fuel rail and wrap a shop towel around the connection. Attach fuel pressure valve J 34730-1A to the fuel pressure connection. Place the open end of the pressure valves bleed hose into a container approved for gasoline open the valve to relieve the pressure in the fuel system. Disconnect the pressure valve and replace the cap for the fuel pressure connection.
3Disconnect the fuel lines for the fuel rail with a back-up wrench and discard the O-rings. Detach the fuel return line from the pressure regulator. Disconnect the wiring for the ignition coil and electrical connectors for the fuel injector. Remove the mounting bolts for the fuel rail with a socket wrench and disconnect the fuel rail assembly by pulling on both sides of the fuel rail with equal force.
4Cover the open fuel lines with masking tape to keep debris out of the fuel lines. Release the retaining clips for the fuel injector and discard them. Detach the fuel injector from the fuel rail. Discard all of the O-rings on the fuel injectors.
5Apply a thin layer of engine oil to the new O-rings. Install the O-rings onto the new fuel injectors and place the new retainer clip onto the fuel injector. Place the fuel injectors into the sockets on the fuel rail so the electrical connections on the fuel injectors face outwards. Lock the retainer clips for the fuel injectors.
6Install the fuel rail by performing steps 3 and 4 in reverse order. Fasten the cap for the fuel tank and connect the cable on the negative battery terminal with a socket wrench. Turn the ignition on for two seconds to pressurize the fuel system, then turn the ignition off for 10 seconds. Turn the ignition back on and check for fuel leaks.

Replacing Drivers Side Mirror on a 98 Pontiac Grand Prix
The 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix has painted side mirrors to match the paint color of the vehicle. Aftermarket replacement mirrors often come with a black finish. These mirrors can be painted to closely match the color of the car or they can be left in black finish. While aftermarket direct-fit mirrors are much more affordable than OEM equipment from the dealership, if matching the color of the mirrors is important, buying the mirror from the dealership would be a better option.

Open the drivers side door and power the window down. Remove the key from the ignition.
2Fit the angled pry tool under the bottom of the window control module on the arm rest assembly. Pry off the module.
3Unplug the four wire harness connections attached to the underside of the control module. The plugs are color coded and only fit in their respective outlets, so keeping track of which one goes where for reassembly is not required.
4Pry off the two plastic beauty caps from underneath the arm rest assembly with the pry tool to reveal the door panel retaining screws. Remove the screws with the Phillips screwdriver.
5Remove the interior door lector from the inner housing of the lector with the pry tool.
6Pry off the small speaker cover on top of the door panel opposite the side mirror.
7Move the door panel away from the door frame with the pry tool. Start at the bottom and work up each side to release the snap pins from the underside of the panel. Lift the door panel slightly to remove the upper lip from the door frame. Reach behind the panel to disconnect the speaker wire harness plug. Set the door panel aside.
8Disconnect the mirror wire harness plug.
9Remove the three retaining nuts of the mirror with the 10-mm nut driver. The mirror may stick to the door from the original gasket, but brace one hand under it when removing the last nut in case it doesnt. This will prevent the original mirror from scratching the exterior paint on the door.
10Install the new mirror. Replace the retaining nuts and attach the mirror harness plugs together. Reattach the speaker cover, lower speaker wire and door panel assembly by reversing the removal procedure. Reattach the door lector and plug the harnesses back into the window control module before snapping the module back into place.
11Replace the two door panel retaining screws. Snap the beauty caps back into place below the arm rest assembly.

How to Replace a Pontiac Transport Horn
The horn on your Pontiac Transport van must be in working condition for the safety and street legality of your vehicle. The horn is designed for your safety, to let people know of your presence so that accidents can be avoided. Because of this, the horn must work in order for the car to pass state inspection. As a cost saving measure, you should search used parts dealers or junkyards for a replacement horn, which you can install for yourself in a few steps.

Lift the hood of your vehicle and stabilize it so that you can operate.
2Locate the horn module just inside the grill of your vehicle. It is circular-shaped, like a school bell, and mounted under the hood with a wire plugged into its socket to provide power.
3Use a wrench or screwdriver (depending on how your horn module is attached) to loosen the screws, nuts or bolts mounting the stock horn. Set aside these pieces so that they wont get lost.
4Unplug the wire set from the horns socket. Remove the horn from the vehicle.
5Place the new horn onto the mount and screw it into place using the pieces you removed from the old horn. Plug the wires into the new horn. Close the hood of your car and dispose of the old horn.

How to Replace Headlight Lamps in a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix
The 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix uses a single unit headlight with a dual internal filament for the low and high beams. While this simplifies the location of the headlight bulb, its not uncommon for one of the filaments to become faulty while the other still works, and this requires the replacement of the bulb. When handling the replacement bulb(s), its important to avoid skin contact with the glass bulb portion. Halogen headlights burn extremely hot, and oils, perspiration or other contaminants on skin will create a weak spot on the bulb and compromise its life.

Open the hood of the Pontiac Grand Prix after making sure the headlight switch is in the "Off" position. Apply the parking brake for added safety if desired.
2Look for the Phillips head screw on top of the junction of the headlight assembly and the marker/directional light assembly. Loosen the screw about 1/4 of an inch with a Phillips head screwdriver. The loosened screw will act like a hinge for easier removal of the assembly.
3Locate the headlight assembly retaining bolts on top of the radiator rail at each rear edge of the assembly. Remove the bolts with a ratchet and 10 mm socket.
4Wiggle the headlight assembly and the marker/directional light assembly back and forth to pivot the two assemblies on the hinge screw until they come out as a connected unit from their cavity (just far enough to reach a hand behind to access the faulty headlight).
5Disconnect the blue-capped wire harness plug from the headlight socket.
6Twist the headlight socket a 1/4 turn counterclockwise to remove it from the assembly.
7Align the tabs on the replacement headlight (being caul not to touch the glass bulb) to the grooves of the headlight assembly and push it slightly inward before turning it clockwise a 1/4 turn.
8Plug the wire harness connection back into the headlight socket. With the headlight assembly resting on the shelf of the cavity/bumper, test the headlights before putting the assemblies in place. Be sure to test both low and high beams for operation.
9Reinstall the headlight assembly and the marker/directional assembly in place by reversing the removal procedure. Replace the headlight assembly retaining bolts, tighten the hinge screw, remove the tools and close the hood.

Pontiac produces several models of vehicles, such as the G3, Solstice and Vibe, in numerous trims each year. The alignment specs can vary substantially from year to year and from model to model. Alignment Specs for the 2006 to 2010 Pontiac G3
The alignment specs for all trims of the Pontiac G3 are the same for 2006 to 2010 models. For the front end, the caster angle can range from +1.75 to +3.25 degrees, but the ideal angle is +2.5 degrees. The camber angle can range from -1.15 degrees to +.35 degrees, but the ideal angle is -.4 degrees. The total toe can range from -.10 degrees to .24 degrees.
For the rear end, the alignment specs are the same for 2006 to 2009 models but changed for 2010 models. The rear-end camber angle can range from -2.00 to -1.00 degrees, with the ideal setting being -1.50 degrees, for the 2006 to 2009 models. For the 2010 model, the camber angle can range from -2.25 degrees to -.75 degrees, with the ideal setting being -1.50 degrees. The total toe for all models from 2006 to 2010 can range from -.08 degrees to +.58 degrees.

The steering-wheel angle can range from -3.50 degrees to +3.50 degrees, but it is best when evened out at zero degrees.

The camber angle for each rear wheel can range from -1.95 degrees to -.95 degrees, with the ideal setting for each rear wheel being -1.45 degrees. The toe-in should be set at +.26 inches on the rear wheels. The caster angle is not adjustable on the rear end.

How to Repair a Side View Mirror on a Pontiac G6
The Pontiac G6 is a standard midsized four-door sedan that uses standard plastic enclosures to mount the side view mirrors onto the door frames. This is the same process that GM has used since transitioning from metal mirrors that bolt onto the side of the door. Since the mirror inside of the enclosure attaches with a few metal clips, removing the side view mirror from the enclosure is a relatively simple process to complete.
Instructions

Push one side of the mirror into the enclosure to push the other end of the mirror out. If you are repairing the driver mirror, push the right side of the mirror into the enclosure. If you are repairing the passenger mirror, push the left side of the mirror into the enclosure.
2Slide your hand behind the mirrors edge and pull out on the mirror to force the metal clips to pop off the plastic ball on which the mirror pivots.
3Place the new mirror inside of the enclosure and press the tabs around the plastic pivot ball by pushing on the center of the mirror with the ball of your fist.

Repairing Installing Pontiac Sunfire Fuel Injectors
The Pontiac Sunfire is a compact car, manufactured by Pontiac from 1995 to 2005. This vehicle uses Pontiacs J platform, and has a four-cylinder 2.2-liter engine with sequential fuel injection. Each cylinder has its own fuel injector, which delivers pressurized fuel to the cylinder in a precise sequence. The fuel injectors are generally not serviceable, so the repair procedure consists of replacing the faulty injectors.

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal with a socket wrench to avoid the discharge of fuel while installing the fuel injectors. Open the filler cap on the fuel tank to relieve the pressure in the fuel tank.
2Wrap a shop towel around the fuel pressure port on the fuel rail to soak up fuel leaks. Connect a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel pressure port and place the free end of the pressure gauges bleed hose into a gasoline container. Open the valve on the pressure gauge to relieve the pressure in the fuel system. Disconnect the fuel pressure gauge from the fuel pressure port.
3Disconnect the outlet resonator of the air cleaner with a socket wrench. Detach the fuel lines from the fuel rail and unplug the electrical connectors for the fuel injectors. Disconnect the mounting bolts for the fuel rail and remove the fuel rail from the cylinder heads.
4Release the retainer clip on the fuel injectors and remove the fuel injectors from the fuel rail. Remove the O-rings from the fuel injector and discard them.
5Mount the new O-rings to the fuel injectors and attach the fuel injector clips. Install the fuel injectors into their corresponding sockets on the fuel rail so the electrical connectors face upward.
6Align the fuel injectors with their respective cylinder head ports and install the fuel rail to the cylinder heads. Tighten the retainers for the fuel rail to 89 inch-pounds with a torque wrench.
7Attach the electrical connectors to the fuel injectors. Connect the fuel lines to the fuel rail and connect the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator. Install the outlet resonator for the air cleaner with a socket wrench.
8Connect the cable to the negative battery terminal. Turn the ignition on for two seconds to pressurize the fuel system. Turn the ignition off and check for fuel leaks.

Pontiac Grand AM 1995 Troubleshooting
The 1995 Pontiac Grand AM is a coupe that has a 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine. If you are having problems with your 95 Grand AM, there are a couple of things that you can troubleshoot yourself before you take the car into a service shop. Common issues reside with the power steering, the battery, and the fuel. You can alleviate these problems without training in automobiles. Getting your problems fixed will get you back on the road in no time.

Lift the hood to the Grand Am and look fro the power steering fluid tank next to the engine. Look for the fill line on the tank and make sure that you have enough fluid in the tank. Fill the tank with power steering fluid if needed.
2Look over the coolant levels to make sure you have enough coolant if your Grand AM is overheating. The coolant system is right by the power steering fluid tank. Add 50/50 coolant to the tank until the coolant level is at the fill line.
3Check over the battery on the right side of the engine. The battery should have tight connections from the cable to the battery terminals. If the connections are loose, tighten them with a pair of channel locks or pliers.
4Test the battery with a voltmeter if your car wont start. Place the testing leads on the battery terminals according to the color of the leads. If you get anything less than 11 volts from the test, you should charge your battery.
5Turn the key in your ignition and look over the fuel levels. If you dont have enough fuel in the gas tank, you car will not be able to start. Fill the gas tank as needed to get the car starter.
