How to Disable the Airbag Light on a Ford Mondeo

The airbag warning light in a Ford Mondeo may illuminate when the airbag is malfunctioning. After you have had the airbag assembly looked at by a mechanic and fixed, you need to reset the airbag or SRS warning light on your Mondeo. You need to purchas a diagnostic reset tool from your dealership or any auto parts store to do this job.

Instructions

    1

    Locate and open the fuse panel which can be found underneath the steering column on the dashboard. Pull down on it from the top with your fingers.

    2

    Plug the connector end of the diagnostic reset tool into the pinned receiver port on the fuse panel.

    3

    Put the key into the ignition and turn it to the "II" position. Wait for the diagnostic reset tool to stop blinking. This means the SRS light has been reset.

    4

    Unplug the diagnostic reset tool and turn off the vehicle.

    5

    Turn the engine on and verify that the SRS light has shut off of the instrument panel.

How to Disable the Airbag Warning Light in a PT Cruiser

When the airbag warning light or Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) light illuminates on the PT Cruisers instrument panel, it is because a trouble code is being sent to the On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) computer from a sensor in the SRS. Trouble codes are used to help you pinpoint and troubleshoot problems with your PT Cruiser. You can reset these trouble codes using an OBD scan tool after you have had the airbag system examined and repaired. This hand-held computerized device can be purchased from your dealership or any auto parts retailer.

Instructions

    1

    Locate the OBD port on the drivers side dashboard underneath the steering column.

    Insert the OBD scan tools connector into this port.

    3

    Put the key into the ignition and turn it to the "Run" position. Dont allow the engine to start.

    Wait for the scan tool to interact with the OBD computer. When the codes display on the scan tool, find and select the "Delete Codes" command. The scan tool will return to the main menu or display "OK" when it has finished deleting the codes.

    5

    Unplug the OBD scan tool and start the engine. Check to make sure that the SRS light has shut off on the instrument cluster.

How to Disable a 1993 Corvette Alarm

The car alarm on your 1993 Corvette can save you from having to deal with car theft, but it can also be an annoyance when trying to make minor repairs. The alarm is sensitive, so it may go off during routine maintenance. You can disable your Corvettes car alarm by disconnecting it from its power source. Since the car alarm is wired directly into the cars battery, you can disable the alarm by disconnecting the negative terminal on the Corvettes battery.

Instructions

    Open the hood to your 1993 Corvette.

    Use a socket wrench to loosen the negative terminal labeled with a "-" mark.

    Remove the terminal from the battery to disable the car alarm.
